During your session, the dietitian will review your diet and/or your dietary and lifestyle challenges and collaborate with you to set realistic goals for improving food choices and habits.
For improving food choices and eating habits, we invite patients to participate in one of our lifestyle programs:
This is a 12-week, goal-based, interactive group program offered at the Peach King Centre in Grimsby twice per year (Spring and Fall). This program usually runs on Tuesday afternoons, 1-2:45 pm.
WHAT TO EAT
This is a 4-week informational program about food choices and habits offered at the Grimsby Public Library every January. Topics include: self-assessment, sugar, meal balance, meal timing, snacking, and strategies for emotional/mindless eating. This program usually runs on Tuesday evenings: 6-7:45 pm.
If you are interested in participating in these programs, please register with reception at any time for the next upcoming session
One-on-one counseling appointments for weight management are limited. Please let us know if you have extenuating circumstances that prevent you from attending our group programs. Please note that the dietitian does not prescribe restrictive diets for rapid weight loss. Emphasis is on progressive and sustainable behaviour change.
Come and learn about diverse nutrition topics presented each summer at the Grimsby Public Library (see library events page for details or call 905.945.5142) and every month at the Peach King Centre. Our dietitian partners with the dietitian from Beamsville Family Health Team to deliver 30-minute bursts of nutrition information once a month on a Thursday at 10 am after Peach King’s Happy Hearts fitness class (call our office or Peach King for details).
